Cānd strălucitul dar egocentricul neurochirurg Stephen Strange īşi pierde abilitatea de a opera īn urma unui accident un viitor sumbru pare să-i fie destinat. Dar o īntālnire providenţială cu Cel Străvechi, un īnţelept vrăjitor retras īn sihăstrie pe culmile din Himalaya, i-ar putea deschide lui Strange calea către secretele magiei. Numai că Cel străvechi, deranjat de egoismul lui Strange, se va lăsa cu greu convins să-l transforme īn īnvăţăcelul său. Va reuşi doctorul să devină Vrăjitorul Suprem, gata să apere Pămāntul de forţele magice din Univers?
