Evenimentele au loc in anul 2017 , cand o grupare terorista supranumita "The federation" foloseste satelitii armatei americane pentru a distruge anumite orase de pe coasta de vest a Statelor Unite , printre care si orasul San Diego , unde se afla familia Walker. Cei doi frati impreuna cu tatal lor scapa si parasesc orasul de urgenta.
